“The NC House and Senate page program offers young men and women the opportunity to learn about, and participate in, the legislative process of our state. It is a four-day long experience that allows NC high school students (9th-12th) It provides them the unique privilege of working in the House Chamber.
Students can earn volunteer hours for their career exploring service, or a small stipend. The rolling application period for 2017 is still open. Here are links for both the NC House and Senate page programs and applications.

HighSchoolOT.com is looking for aggressive, self-sufficient, technically-savvy contributors to push our reporting of high school sports over the top. The assistant will have demonstrated experience or interest in reporting game and/or feature stories, shooting video, video production, still photography and/or social media. This is a part-time, seasonal position, with most of the work on nights and weekends.

Teen Morrisville 101 is an annual citizen's academy geared towards Teens interested in local government, specifically in Morrisville.
This is a free program for 9 - 12th graders. The program will be held after school hours, from 4 - 6 pm once a week for 4 weeks, and will take place at Morrisville Town Hall, located at 100 Town Hall Drive. While the program is open to all high school students, preference will be given to those who live in Morrisville.

Congressional App Challenge Student Hackathon by Congressman David Price

Join us for the second annual Congressional App Challenge Hackathon hosted by Congressman David Price (NC-04) and Congressman G. K. Butterfield (NC-01). Students that attend the Hackathon will have the opportunity to meet with mentors, complete an exercise in design thinking, and receive tips from public relations professionals on mastering a "pitch". Students will have the opportunity to work in teams to start, develop, or complete an app for the challenge.
Please bring a laptop for the Hackathon. If you would like to participate, but do not have access to a laptop, please email Katelynn Anderson in Rep. Price's office at Katelynn.Anderson@mail.house.gov.

Interested in Architecture, Construction or Engineering?
ACE Mentor Program is a free national program that is open to any high school student who has the curiosity and drive to learn about a career in design and construction — from contracting and engineering to architecture and landscaping.
What: Students will work with local design and construction professionals to design a project from start to finish. Students will visit professional offices, job sites and other relevant locations. Students will discuss the same issues, and perform the same tasks, as if they worked in the industry.
Also eligible for NCSU College of Engineering and Design Summer Camp Scholarships!
Where: ACE Students will meet at 4 locations in Wake County. Students may choose the site most convenient for them.

Disney Dreamers Academy is a power-packed, 4-day event held annually at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, in which 100 select high school students, ages 13-19, are inspired to dream big and get a jump-start on making those dreams come true! Students chosen to attend travel from every corner of the country to participate in a series of sessions and workshops held within the magical setting of Walt Disney World Resort
Dreamers engage in a wide variety of experiences while working side by side with some of today’s top celebrities, community and industry leaders and dedicated Disney Cast members.

ChickTech: High School is a free yearlong program (transportation is provided if needed) that introduces 100 high school girls to technology. The program kicks off with a 2-day event on Dec 2nd and 3rd at Meredith College ... monthly events around different careers, technologies, and companies. Our program provides a fun, positive learning experience designed to build participants’ confidence in their technical abilities, give them positive role models, create connections with other young women from the RDU area, and create a positive association with technology creation.

This program is for anyone between the ages of 14-20 who want to gain valuable experience in television production through job shadowing, clinics, workshops and hands on experience, then we invite you to attend this open house to learn more about our program.
There is a $30.00 membership fee once confirmed in the program. The program runs October – May. Weekly meetings/activities are held on Thursday’s from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at WRAL.
